Nalgene-LifeStraw Adapter

Personal Project
Summer 2024

An adapter I designed after having a subpar experience using a LifeStraw gravity fed water filter while backpacking. The adpater allows easier use of the entire gravity fed system by allowing users to easily attach the gravity fed system to their Nalgene. The other version of the adapter allows users to attach only the filter and drink filtered water directly from their Nalgene.

Manufacturing Methods
Two versions from a redesign of the Bodum Chambord French Press. The first retains the original frame with simple CMF changes, and the second is a more comprehensive redesign. We chose titanium and concrete as our materials to give more durability and value to the consumer. Version 2 has a concrete puck that is a permanent home for the French press. The colors were chosen to highlight the active parts during brewing while allowing the user to watch the process through the frosted glass windows. Modeled in Rhino 7 and Rendered in Keyshot 12

A table designed for the Bears Ears Education Center (BEEC) and BLM in Bears Ears. The goal for the project was to design a table that could be used in the outdoor teaching area at the BEEC as well as at BLM campsites in Bears Ears National Monument. Modularity and displaying Visit With Respect icons were the main needs from the BEEC and durability and blending into the environment were the most important things for BLM.
